Kick, Kick, Kick!

Ruthie has always loved bath time, but tonight she found a new reason to love it!

First Cold

Ruthie has her first cold.  Her nose had been stuffy for a few days and then yesterday we noticed that her eyes were red and watery too.  We took her to see the Dr. and they said it was just a cold.  Of course, our sweet little baby has maintained her happy demeanor through all of this - she doesn't seem phased by being sick at all.  We feel pretty lucky about that.  I think it is more sad for us to watch and not be able to fix it.  We found out that she now weighs 9lbs. 12oz., which means that she has gained 11oz in one week.  Pretty impressive!  Here's a little video of her morning babbling today.  I just love it when she does this!

Smiles

Ruthie has reached a very exciting milestone - she started smiling!  I have a feeling that we are only getting a small taste of this beautiful expressions, but it is so fun when it happens.  Strangely, changing her diaper, which used to make her scream, is often when we see her pretty smile the most.  Here are some pictures from a diaper changing session yesterday when she was particularly happy!
